The long arm of the law finally catches up with U.N Wife beater

The Long Arm of the Law Finally Catches Up with the UN Wife Beater

If you rattle a snake, get ready to be beaten. This is an infamous statement by the late Cabinet Minister, John Michuki.  After battering his baby momma, Alphonse Kambu a Papua New Guinea national and a UN Staffer defiantly boasted that he enjoyed diplomatic immunity.  Well, the police have finally arrested Kambu. Perhaps his incensing remarks may have prompted DPP Keriako Tobiko to ask the DCI to “thoroughly” investigate him.

Kambu was arrested on Wednesday at Ridgeways estate Nairobi after he had gone under for two days. Alphonse Kambu will be held at Kasarani police station until Thursday, when he will appear in court to take a plea, OCPD Wambua Mboloi said. He will be arraigned in court to answer allegations of battering 26-year-old Ruth Gakii, Lawyer Cliff Ombeta said in a telephone interview with the Star.

Speaking separately, Gakii said Kasarani police called asking her to go to the station after Kambu’s arrest.

“I am about to leave the house. One thing I will not do is to negotiate with Kambu. I have nothing to tell him, I just want him to leave me alone. Let us meet in court tomorrow,” she said
